An X-band FMCW sensor is developed with beam-scanning capability to reliably detect the vehicles with different shapes. Two-element transmitting antenna array is designed with single phase shifter and an unequal power divider to reduce the cost and achieve compact size of 4.5 cm × 4 cm. Experiments successfully confirm precise identification of the incoming vehicle and its occupancy.
In the research project, a design concept of the mm-wave antenna array operating at 38 GHz is proposed by using a 64-element micorstrip patch antenna array. Theoretical and experimental study validates the design approach for the use of the Fifth generation (5G) wireless communication system.
Recently, the next generation (5G) mobile communication system has been actively investigated all over the world, in order to satisfy the strong demand for the faster and larger data communication. not only UHF band but also SHF/EHF bands have been much attracted much attention. Therefore, frequency characteristic of radio propagation loss must be studied. We previously investigated the outdoor to...
The motif of this paper to research analysis of cascading test fixture (Module Compliance Board Host Compliance Board and SFP+ connector) for SFP+ cable. Analysis of cascading test fixture (Module Compliance Board? Host Compliance Board and SFP+ connector) for SFP+ cable simulated by EM simulator and using vector network analyzer to validate frequency domain and time domain results. From the simulation...
We proposed a low profile surface wave antenna with directional beam using micro strip element. Proposed antenna can design at the desired resonance frequency by changing microstrip length L and width W. In addition, we proposed process of design the desired resonance frequency by using some formulas. Also, we designed the antenna having the resonance frequency of 10 GHz by using proposed method ...
A novel compact dual-mode bandpass filter is implemented based on the TE102-TE201 mode cavity for millimeter-wave systems. Two transmission zeros generated by the cross coupling between two modes are observed within the upper and lower stop bands of the filter for the improvement of frequency selectivity. Furthermore, a balanced-to-unbalanced conversion is combined within the patch element for function...
Frequency selective reflector (FSR) is useful to actualize multi-band reflector backed dipole antennas. This paper investigates a suitable FSR element shape for the FSR backed dipole antenna forming sector radiation pattern, which is suitable for mobile base station antennas. Three element shapes, Gang Buster, Jerusalem Cross, and Square Loop are considered. Radiation patterns are calculated by the...
Experimental investigations by have been done to understand co-channel interference characteristics between the small cells installed in indoor environments. However, there are a lot of complex situations in the arrangement of indoor small cells, so that it seems to be hard to build the general interference modeling through experimental results due to strong dependences on the environmental conditions...
In this letter, a novel patch crossover is proposed for the millimeter-wave signal distribution and routing applications. Great simplicity can be found both in design and structure because the symmetrical circular patch with several metallic posts loaded along the edge is employed as the core part of the crossover. It's well known that the standard crossover is usually implemented by cascading two...
In Heterogeneous network, a number of small cells are distributed in conventional macro-cellular environments, in order to improve the communication speed. The interference between outdoor and indoor cells then becomes to be a significant problem, so that its propagation loss characteristics should be evaluated in outdoor- indoor propagation environments. This paper proposes a mathematical expression...
