Use of surface PIN (SPIN) diodes to reconfigure a slot fed dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is demonstrated. A single SPIN diode is placed in the centre of the feeding slot to facilitate the ON-OFF switching mechanism, modulating the gain by ∼18dB.
Two Cylindrical Dielectric Resonators DR asymmetrically placed on a thin dielectric substrate and fed by a single rectangular slot for wideband wireless applications are presented. Optimized design procedures were applied within a well-known electromagnetic solver to achieve the improved elements dimensions of the antenna geometry. The simulated and measured results show that the proposed DRA can...
A novel and simple design of dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented to achieve reconfiguration in bandwidth. The proposed antenna uses a rectangular DRA element of permittivity 10.2. The DRA is fed by an aperture coupled microstrip line printed on a 3.2 dielectric material with a thickness of 0.762mm. The antenna uses a hybrid radiator to get a wider bandwidth. HPND-4005 PIN diode is used...
