We propose TE/TM-pass polarizer based on loss mechanism in leaky lithium niobate on insulator ridge waveguides. We show compact polarizers can be designed for both TE and TM polarizations by changing the height of waveguide.
We investigated nonlinear pulse propagation in Metal-Insulator-Metal nanoplasmonic waveguides in the presence of electron tunneling across the gap layer. The device is shown to be capable of rectifying ultrafast pulses of less than 100fs duration.
