In this paper an analytical model for current-induced vortex core displacement is developed. The effects of adiabatic and non-adiabatic spin torque are taken into account and the resulting vortex core displacement direction is determined.
This paper continues the discussion of the design of an antenna with collinear electric- and magnetic-dipole moments out of phase by approximately π/2 (90°). Using a high-Q approximation, a switched oscillator is matched to the antenna for radiating an oscillatory pulse.
This investigation examines the combined effect of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (6.5 nm) and 2.45 GHz microwave radiation. Male Swiss albino mice (7 week old) were intra-peritoneally administered different doses of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and were exposed to 2.45 GHz microwave radiation for 30 days. Antioxidative enzyme activity was measured in the liver and brain cells. As measured...
We report time-resolved x-ray photoemission electron microscopy studies of the non-linear magnetization dynamics in artificial permalloy structures. Using pump-probe X-PEEM imaging to obtain a time resolution of ~100ps, we map out the response of a vortex state to a strong in-plane bias field of 5mT. We find that the initial formation of the vortex state is characterized by a complex transient domain...
Motivated by functions that could be enabled with combined nanomechanical and nanomagnetic structures, we have embarked on a program of fabrication and characterization of nanomagnetomechanical systems. Fabrication strategies include conventional electron beam lithography with release from a sacrificial layer, and focused ion beam nanomachining of “2D” and “3D” precursor materials. Characterization...
