10th International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM 2010). 2nd IEEE International Workshop on THz Radiation: Basic Research and Applications (TERA 2010)
A fractal-like (Cantor-like) stratified structure of chiral and achiral isotropic layers is considered. Peculiarities of the wave localization, scalability and sequential splitting in the reflected field of both co-polarized and cross-polarized components are studied. The appearing of the additional peak multiplets in stopbands is revealed, and a correlation of their properties with chirality parameter...
Passive polarization converter based on the Bragg reflector with multiple defects is proposed. The structure consists of N distributed Bragg reflectors (DBR) separated by N-1 defects. Transmittance spectra for two orthogonal polarizations of the incident plane wave are presented.
The scattering of Gaussian beam on the metamaterial slab with negative refractive index is considered. Modeling is based on the spectral decomposition of the beam field in plane waves. The effect of different parameters on the polarization characteristics of the electromagnetic field reflected from the metamaterial layer and transmitted through it is investigated. The possibility of control of the...
The electromagnetic field amplification constant in the scattering of the nonrelativistic electrons by ions in the elliptically polarized light wave is theoretically studied for any intensities for which radiation amplification takes place. The anomalous amplification effect in the moderate-strong electro-magnetic field is predicted.
Optical properties of both symmetrical and asymmetrical modified Fibonacci structures of chiral and achiral isotropic layers are studied. The localization and polarization transformation of linearly polarized waves are considered. The effect of the phase shift compensation in the reflected field is shown in the case of an asymmetrical modified Fibonacci multilayer.
