Summary form of only given: New design methodology using the numerically identified the synthetic flux linkages for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) with multi-layered PMs is proposed. Furthermore, the cross-magnetization between the d-q axis in IPMSM mainly due to the magnetic saturation is investigated via the adopted synthetic flux linkages. The proposed design methodology using...
To improve the performance of permanent magnet (PM) machines, quasi-Halbach PM arrays are used to increase the magnetic loading in these machines. In tubular PM actuators, these arrays are often approximated using segmented magnets resulting in a 3D magnetic field effect. This paper describes the results of this segmentation obtained from an analytical model.
A new force expression of dielectrics subjected to electric field is proposed in this paper. It is the electric version corresponding to the equivalent magnetizing current method. It was conjectured by electromagnetic duality. Numerical result shows that it has a good agreement with the conventional methods.
Measurement of magnetization M inside a complex ferromagnetic geometry cannot be achieved by usage of any measurement device. In this paper, we propose to use an inverse problem algorithm to determine the law of variation of M for such structures, accounting for the magneto-mechanical effects it is undergoing. The analytical law obtained leads to an intrinsic characterization model of magnetization...
This paper introduces an original approach for modeling the external induction variation of a complex ferromagnetic structure undergoing magneto-mechanical effects. From the Jiles Law of Approach that describes the intrinsic magnetization changes due to magnetostriction, an expression of the law in terms of conveniently external measurable induction B is derived for thin ferromagnetic devices. Based...
The effect of the B-H and Bm-Wt curves under different dc-biased magnetization on iron loss and flux in Si-Fe lamination obtained by a laminated core model is investigated, which has been demonstrated via the numerical modeling results based on model.
In this paper, at first, the cage conductor effects on magnetization of rotor magnet in a written pole motor (WPM) are investigated. To this aim, the residual flux density of rotor magnet after exciter operation is analyzed with FEM considering magnetization characteristics of a hard magnetic material and eddy currents of rotor bars. Then, through the FE-analysis with variance of the number and shape...
Many Magnetic MEMS have been recently developed to manipulate spherical diamagnetic or superparamagnetic particles. Magnetic forces can be computed using the dipole method or the semi-numerical integral. However, these methods appear inaccurate or time consuming, respectively. This paper proposes a multipolar approach which provides a satisfying compromise between precision and rapidity to compute...
This paper presents results obtained from a numerical simulation of the magnetization distribution of Nd-Fe-B magnets. In the initial magnetization process, we have used the three-dimensional Variable Magnetization and Stoner-Wohlfarth (VMSW) method. In the residual magnetization process and demagnetization process, we have used the magnetization equation of motion. Magnetization equation of motion...
Demagnetizing field in micromagnetic simulation is studied under periodic boundary condition. The demagnetizing field matrix is superposed to obtain magnetostatic field induced by periodic magnetization. To evaluate the influence of periodic structure, macroscopic demagnetization factors are defined. A large demagnetizing field yields a linear magnetization where the susceptibility is given by the...
The emphasis of this paper is to research the dynamic inductance model of giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA). First, the relative permeability of giant magnetostrictive material (Terfenol-D) under different pressures and different magnetizations are tested. Then, the inductance parameter of GMA is computed based on the above relative permeability results and the trends of inductance considering...
Magnetization chirality switching in magnetic vortex structures is studied. The advantage to use vortex properties and the magnetization chirality instead of the polarity to obtain fast switching is shown.
The quantitative interaction body force density was calculated in soft magnetic materials by using a freezing procedure of magnetization and virtual air-gap scheme. When the generalized force calculating methods implemented by using the virtual air-gap scheme are exploited, one has an irregular distribution of body force density. To remove the irregular pattern and evaluate the interaction body force...
The effect of the variation of B-H properties obtained by different means and data access modes under different exciting frequencies on iron loss and flux in GO silicon steel laminations is investigated, and the results of the numerical modeling is demonstrated on a benchmark model.
Total electromagnetic force on a body can be predicted by replacing the polarization and magnetization with appropriate equivalent currents and charges. Still, the equivalence of total force does not imply that the integrated densities have physical meaning. The construction of force density directly from dipoles removes the ambiguity caused by partial integration.
