We demonstrate first observations of slow-light enhanced three-photon absorption(ThPA) in photonic crystal waveguides.The injected pulses demonstrate self-phase modulation(SPM) with scalings deviating from ng2(SPM) and ng3(ThPA).A thorough analysis suggests pulse compression leading to increased peak powers.
We present two ultrabroadband optical parametric amplifiers based on periodically poled stoichiometric lithium tantalate. Both systems produce two-cycle pulses, in the near-infrared (8.5 fs at 1.3 mum) and mid-infrared (25 fs at 3.5 mum) respectively.
We investigate spatio-temporal focusing of an elliptically-shaped beam in a bulk mediumwith a Kerr nonlinearity and anomalous dispersion. Strong spatio-temporal localization of the mode is observed via multi-filamentation and temporal compression.
