We demonstrate the generation of 48 fs, 226 nJ pulses from an Yb-doped fiber amplifier with 18 W of average power. The system uses a simple stretcher-free, single-stage amplifier configuration. Gain fiber length and pump wavelength are chosen in order to achieve the optimum pulse width and pulse energy.
We report on a fiber CPA system producing 100 muJ energy pulses with quasi transform limited duration of 267 fs at a repetition rate of 300 kHz leading to a peak power of 345 MW.
A Q-switched laser system which couples two ytterbium doped fibers is presented. Depending on the pump intensity this system yields either short or long nanosecond pulses. The gain competition accounts for the observed phenomena.
