We investigate wavelength conversion by cross-phase modulation in the presence of strong dispersion and two photon absorption in highly nonlinear singlemode As2Se3 fiber, achieving conversion over a span of 30 nm.
Direct-detection differential polarization-phase-shift keying is experimentally demonstrated at 10 Gsymbol/s, in which polarization-phase symbols are differentially decoded by using optical interferometric demodulation and electrical multilevel decision without the need of dynamic polarization control.
We investigate optimal dispersion maps for 40 Gbit/s DWDM systems based on return-to-zero differential phase-shift-keying modulated channels. Accumulating the dispersion compensation in 150 km G.652 units leads to a small transmission penalty of less than 0.5 dB.
