The main objective of this research is to give a cognitive support to a person for understanding Hindi language text using automatic text visualization (ATV). ATV is especially useful for the persons with learning disabilities (LD). This paper focuses on the background and complexity of the problem. The impact on comprehension through visualized text over reading the text is discussed. The architecture of Preksha — a Hindi text visulizer — is given and several illustrative examples of scenes generated using it are given.
