The validity of sensed data that labels the change events plays the most important role in the accuracy and reliability of the Internet of Things (IoT)-based Wireless sensor network (WSN) applications to assure data quality for perfect decision making. In this study, we suggested and implemented a sensor data validation approach based on adaptive threshold for real-time IOT/WSN sensor node level. The proposed approach considered detection of various types of sensed data errors, and addressed a simple mechanism to classify between error and event. The prototype/implementation issue was also addressed. From the results, the proposed algorithm appears to be more adaptive, and easy to implement in real-time applications. Moreover, the proposed algorithm has been compared with a recent work DVA and showed a better performance in terms of false detection, delay, and energy consumption. In addition, the proposed algorithm successfully implemented in the sensor board.
