According to the characteristics of the area and natural environment in our hospital, we expound the necessity of applying the electrode type humidification method. And we monitored the temperature, humidity and the mean maximum concentration of bacteria to improve the operating room air quality in seven spring days. In the operating room, the mean temperature, humidity, the maximum concentration of bacteria in the operation and peripheral field was 22.6°C, 19.1%, 1.6 and 2.9 respectively. After the electrode the humidifier was turned on one hour, the detection results temperature, humidity and maximum average concentration of bacteria in the operation were 23°C, 50%, 1.5 and 2.8. After the electrode humidifier working for 3 hours, these were 23°C, 50%, 1.4 and 2.7 corresponding. So the electrode humidifier can improve the humidity of the operating room effectively in spring in our hospital. It took only one hour to reach the temperature and humidity standards. Meanwhile, the concentration of bacteria field also has been reduced in both the operation area and the surrounding field in the operation room and the air quality was also significantly improved. And it had no effect on the temperature. We hope that it provide a reference about humidification for other hospitals.
