Abdominal fetal electrocardiogram monitoring is a technique for obtaining information about fetus well-being during pregnancy by analyzing electrical signals from multi-channel recordings on the mother body surface. Of particular interest are the fetal heart rate and the shape of the PQRST complex, which are indicators of the degree of fetal distress. In this paper, we present a technique (hardware prototypes, algorithms and software for abdominal signal processing), aiming noninvasive monitoring of fetal heart activity.
