The paper presents the statistical description of the interaction between ephaptically coupled axons. Using a mutual coupling factor and the Hodgkin-Huxley model, the extended membrane potential model has been obtained. Furthermore, the conduction of these potentials along the coupled axons is demonstrated combining the cable equation. Simulation results show that the coupled axons would achieve action potentials and transfer this neural signal along the axon even if there is no extracellular stimulation; only one of the neurons is stimulated, intracellularly. Some useful discussions, including the coupling factor identification and neural decoupling, are also given in this paper.
