The present study developed a low-cost, reconfigurable partial discharge signal detection device. The said device was an embedded system that consisted of four different modules, which included a microcontroller, a high speed analog-digital converter, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and a data memory component. To test the functionality of the partial discharge detection device, this study performed different case tests, in which the results showed that the device could accurately measure partial discharge signals up to 50 MHz.
