The paper presents an impact analysis of the thermal stresses of electrical equipment impact on the environment temperature. To accomplish this were determined the steady-state overtemperatures and thermal time constants for three different sections of a busbar system, from a low voltage electric switchboard, in order to determine the thermal stresses for each case. To see how much the value of thermal stresses of electrical equipment influences the climate change was performed a study. Electricity saved from reducing Joule effect losses was equated into number of trees saved. This was realized by equating the amount of electricity saved into emission in kg of CO2, and then by knowing the amount of CO2 emission absorbed by a mature tree was determined the number of trees.
