The paper focuses on the flexible management of the centrifugal pumps with variable speed drives primarily used for water circulation in closed processes, such as heating, cooling, and air conditioning. The goal of the study is to implement the mutual pressure and flow control, which provides the minimal electricity consumption along with the speed range enlargement. To resolve the problem, two methods are combined: throttling and speed adjustment. The methodology of the offered approach is described and analyzed. A research is supported by a set of experiments on the ABB Ebara CDX 120/12 pumping station fed by ACQ810 variable speed induction motor drives and ABB programmable logical controller AC500 PM 571.
