The paper describes the bench for defining power characteristics of the hydrodynamic heater of liquid environments based on the frequency controlled electric drive of a pump installation and SCADA system. The authors have developed a mathematical model of energy carrier flow in the pipeline of the bench, which is realized in the integrated information and graphic GID-99w system environment. A complex of studies and tests combining natural experiments at the bench with simulating experiments on the mathematical model has been carried out. The results of studies and tests are used in designing a demonstration series of hydrodynamic heaters of liquid environments for 5 to 55 kW power range.
