The article presents the results of researches of transients in 35 kV vacuum circuit breakers when interrupting load currents in particular schemes. It is shown that in some cases disconnection of load can lead to reignition in vacuum circuit breakers, followed by overvoltages, which can be dangerous for the circuit breaker and other power equipment. Moreover, transient behavior can affect the amplitude of overvoltages. We examined the efficiency of pulse capacitor in application to reignition phenomena elimination in such schemes.
