Wireless Sensor Network is a rising technology that guarantees ample amount of applications in various domains. The creations of WSNs completely rely on existence of various hardware and software and WSN developed with limited battery life. Many WSN routing protocols are designed so that it makes use of fewer resources and improve the performance and lifetime of network. Energy consumption is one of the primary design issues in WSN to boost the network lifetime. Based on different topological structure routing protocols are categorized into different types Out of which Hierarchical routing protocols proved to be good in reducing energy consumption by restricting the communication within the cluster and accumulate the data to transmit to BS. This paper presents Equalized Cluster Head Election Routing Protocol (ECHERP) algorithm, which provides energy preservation through balanced clustering. The main objective of ECHERP algorithm is to finds the number of nodes that can play the role of cluster head (CH) which increases the network lifetime. This protocol uses Gaussian elimination algorithm to find CH.
