The use of a bigger and more reliable transmission network such as Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) is proven to support telecommunication providers in implementing broadband technology. Analyzing the DWDM implementation in PT. XYZ, this study focuses on the transmission network employing the techno-economic method. The use of this method involves two purposes. First, it aims at establishing backbone optic networks. Second, it calculates the investment value as well as determines the economic feasibility on the implementation of fiber optic-based network. The techno-economic analysis employs a method developed by European Union with investment feasibility parameters such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, as well as Payback Period.
