This paper proposes an integrated reclosing technique that combines the merits of adaptive reclosing technique (ART) and the optimal reclosing technique (ORT) to improve the transient stability problem. The ART discriminate the fault nature, and detects the instant of arc extinguished by using the harmonics components in the faulted phase voltage using wavelet packet transform (WPT). The ORT is resulting from the load angle of the synchronous generator. The proposed integrated technique is dependent on adaptive threshold level and on the information that captured from one end only. The performance of the integrated reclosing method is assessed compared to conventional reclosing schemes in terms of voltage and speed indices. The Integrated method is confirmed by using MATLAB/SIMULINK to simulate a single machine infinite bus system model (SIME). The output results indicate that the proposed reclosing method can enhance the transient stability.
