A tapered feed circular monopole super ultra-wideband (UWB) printed antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of circular patch with tapered feed by 50 ohm microstrip line. The feed given to the antenna is tapered which helps in improving the UWB antenna performance. The volume of the proposed antenna is 50 × 40 × 1.6 mm3 including the patch, substrate and the ground plane. The associated 10 dB impedance bandwidth is from 1.48 GHz to 35 GHz. The return loss (S11<-10dB), radiation pattern and the gain shows in good agreement with the bandwidth. ANSYS HFSS version 15 commercial software has been used to design, simulate and to optimize the antenna performance. The substrate used for antenna design is FR-4 having thickness 1.6 mm, dielectric constant 4.4 and loss tangent 0.02. The radiation pattern, gain plot, returns loss and group delay has been investigated in this paper.
