Last few decades have shown that the low-voltage (LV) low-power (LP) IC designs have been given a great attention as power consumption has become a great challenge. This paper demonstrates implementation of OTA and its application in low pass filter design using bulk-driven MOS transistors (MOST), bulk-driven dynamic threshold MOST, bulk-driven floating-gate MOST and bulk-driven quasi-floating-gate MOST. These novel techniques offer a good solution by amalgamating the benefits of dynamic threshold (DT), floating gate (FG) and quasi floating gate (QFG) and the benefits of bulk driven (BD) technique and limit their drawbacks. In view of that, the gain, transconductance and cut-off frequency of DT-BD, FG-BD and QFG-BD OTA come within the reach of conventional gate-driven values. The comparative performance analysis is also shown. P-Spice OrCAD simulator was used to carry out the simulation with supply voltage of ±0.5V in 180nm CMOS technology.
