A novel reconfigurable notched-band UWB antenna is presented. The antenna has an available impedance bandwidth from 3 to 11 GHz with sharp band-notched characteristics centred at 3.5 GHZ and 5.5 GHZ, respectively. Meanwhile the notched-band frequency can be discretely tunable within two pin diodes. Finally, the antenna prototype is successfully fabricated and measured. The measured results have a good agreement with the simulated results. The proposed antenna can filter the WiMAX/WLAN band, according to actual application scenarios. Thus, the antenna is expected to be a good candidate in various UWB systems.
