In this article, the ability of a single layer printed modified folded asymmetric dipole antenna, which is composed of two asymmetric radiated loops (there are slotted ground-trace in each loop) and asymmetric feeding structure, to operate at three wide frequency bands (2300∼2690MHz, 3000∼3600MHz and 4900∼6000MHz) to cover WLAN and LTE operation has been demonstrated. A prototype of the proposed antenna with 40 mm in length, 0.4 mm in thickness and 8 mm in width is fabricated and experimentally investigated. The experimental results indicate that the S11 ≦−7.4dB (VSWR 2.5:1) bandwidths achieved were 16%, 9% and 20% at 2500MHz, 3300MHz and 5500MHz, respectively. Experimental results are shown to verify the validity of theoretical work.
