In the field of wave energy converters maximization of absorbed power has particular importance. Therefore, optimization of effective parameters on absorbed power is the best solution to reach this aim using meta heuristic methods. The method used in this paper is improved particle swarm optimization and considered parameters are determined based on electrical model of a wave energy converter. Finally, the results of optimization are compared with ACO and PSO and it is concluded that IPSO increases the absorbed power and it performs an effective optimized parameters' values with faster convergence rate.
