A microwave hardening system for giant artificial marble blocks has been designed and put into use for actual manufacturing. The high-power continuous wave multimode cavity as the main part of the system can totally process artificial marble blocks of typical size such as 1.6×0.9×0.6m3 which is the 1/5 of the maximum size. Microwave hardening takes less than 1 hour and it is shorter than natural hardening which needs at least 15 days. Mechanical characters of microwave hardened blocks basically conform to those under natural hardening.
