In wireless networks, demand of communication of multimedia data is increasing day by day. Multicast networks help to improve network performance by transmitting data to multiple receivers at single instance in terms of bandwidth consumption, node energy and network congestion. Due to high mobility in Mobile Ad-hoc networks (MANETs), link failure occurring more frequently. In this paper, we are trying to resolve the issue or route failure in Multicast network by selecting stable links in route construction process. Here, we are selecting with maximum signal strength at the time of transmitting data. High signal strength shows higher rate of availability of node in communication flow. We have extended the existing On-demand Multicast routing protocol (ODMRP) for multimedia data communication to resolve route and link failure. Basic protocols are worked on first come first serve (FCFS). It increases the chance of route failures. We have compared our extended protocol with ODMRP on Exata/cyber 2.0 network simulator and evaluate packet delivery ratio and average end-to-end delay.
