This paper presents a new time integrator for mixed-mode signal processing. The proposed time integrator consists of two time adders realized using a time-to-voltage and voltage-to-time conversion mechanism. All transistors of the proposed time integrator operate in an on/off mode, the time integrator is fully compatible with digital-oriented CMOS. The effect of nonidealities including charge injection, leakage, and jitter is examined in detail. The proposed time integrator has been designed in an IBM 130 nm 1.2V CMOS technology. Simulation results show that the time integrator provides a gain of 21 dB with a 317 kHz 30 ps peak-to-peak time input, and consumes 101.6 μW with 25 MHz sampling clock.
