One challenge faced by the in-door visible light communication (VLC) is the influenced by shadow effect, other light sources, multipath effect and intersymbol interference (ISI). Here, we demonstrate using Reed-Solomon (RS) code generated by FPGA (field programmable gate array) for the LED (Light Emitting Diode) to decrease this influence. The theoretical and numerical analysis of RS coding to mitigate the error codes is provided. The experimental result shows that RS code enhances data transmission rate to 80Mbit/s significantly. Moreover, the RS coding technology is a way to improve the performance of VLC system.
