This paper presents a novel vector control strategy for asynchronous motor supplied by unidirectional DC pulsating currents. Compared with conventional asynchronous motor supplied by AC current source, it not only has the advantages of asynchronous motor supplied by current source, but the current driving circuit can be also simplified. The principle of vector control strategy is introduced and the magnetomotive force combination for asynchronous motor is used. Besides, the DC current source needed by asynchronous motor is derived. The expressions of DC current source used to form the uniform hexagonal and circular rotation magnetic field are given, and the DC current source are pulsating trapezoidal current and pulsating saddle current, respectively. Furthermore, the mathematical model based on electromagnetic mechanism is built. The simulation model base on PSIM and MATLAB is established. The simulation results have verified the correctness of theoretical analysis and the feasibility of asynchronous motor driven by DC current source.
