In this paper, a new inverter topology is proposed. The new topology is based on the Hybrid Switched Capacitor (HSC) cell, which brings the advantages of Switched Capacitor Converters (SCC) combined with the conventional ones. In addition to that, it presents a conversion ratio equal to half of the conventional inverter, and each power switch blocks a half of the dc bus voltage. Also, the voltage across the capacitors are balanced and limited to half of the input voltage. The proposed inverter is suitable for practical applications where the peak value of the ac load voltage is lower than the half of the input voltage.
