This paper deals with improving the performances of the Doubly fed induction generator wind farm (DFIG) by using a new control of photovoltaic solar farm converter (PVSFC) in order to act as a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). The low voltage ride through (LVRT) which is the main challenge in the grid-tied wind turbine is also discussed. The simulation results show that the proposed control can enhance the efficiency of DFIG wind farm and improve the LVRT capability. Moreover, this new control has a low cost compared to the conventional devices which they used to compensate the reactive power such a STATCOM. This new idea increases the system performances and stability and leads to encouraging the potential integration of wind farm in the future.
