In this study, wavelet based image resolution enhancement is proposed using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT) through Fusion technique. By applying DWT, the image is divided into various subbands of frequency level. Interpolation techniques are employed to increase the size of image. By Fusing the SWT subbands with the high frequency components of DWT to get high frequency interpolated subband images, whereas low frequency is obtained from the original image which is interpolated to get low frequency components. Biorthogonal wavelets are used in the fusion process. Then the image is reconstructed using Inverse Discrete Wavelet Transform (IDWT). Histogram equalization is performed in order to increase the image brightness and then high resolution subbands are again with downsampled image using db 9/7 wavelet to get high resoluted image. This is tested in addition with one application of visible watermarking as a case study.
