In this study, a wideband direct data domain genetic algorithm beamforming approach to adaptive processing using fast Fourier transform is presented. Received wideband signals are decomposed to a set of frequency narrow subbands using fast Fourier transform. Each subband could be treated separately after being transformed to a reference frequency using the steering vector transformation technique; hence narrowband approaches could be used for any of these subbands. So, the matrix pencil method will be used to estimate the directions of arrival of all incident signals' frequency components. Finally, direct data domain genetic algorithm beamforming approach will be used; the formed hybrid beam pattern capability to reconstruct the frequency components of the signal of interest will be investigated using numerical examples.
