'WEARABLES' ARE SET to be the technology trend of 2015 – as amply demonstrated by the category’s primacy at the world's largest consumer electronics trade show, CES, in Las Vegas this month. On show were smartwatches and fitness trackers from every major consumer electronics company as well as quirky, innovative offerings such as a self-adjusting belt, a gesture-tracking ring and a mood-tracking device. "Consumers already have a notion of where they might be willing to sport a wearable," wrote JP Gownder in 'Five Urgent Truths About Wearables', Forrester Research's wearables report published in December 2014. The wrist tops the list, with devices clipped or embedded in clothing, headphones and smart glasses following.
