Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) is the surgical replacement of a damaged hip with an artificial prosthesis. The squeaking is a post surgical complication that may represent a failure of the THA and that can be intolerable for the patient. In this contribution we study the problem of squeaking hips by analyzing the noise signal coming from prosthesis. The target is the study and monitoring of the squeaking events finalized to: (i) an early identification in surgical patients, (ii) gathering data to improve knowledge about squeaking and (iii) supporting post THA control phases.
