In this paper we demonstrate the localized surface plasmon technique using gold nanoparticles reduced graphene oxide (AuNPs-rGO) on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate. The gold nanoparticles were fabricated using seed-mediated growth method while reduced graphene oxide via reduction of L-ascorbic acid. The sphere nanoparticles were grown on ITO substrate with diameters between 20 nm to 50 nm while the reduced graphene oxide structure is wrinkled as captured by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The absorption spectrum of the gold nanoparticles was observed at 540 nm where the localized surface plasmon resonance properties were further studied by adding rGO layer onto AuNPs and tested in the air-water interface. The AuNPs covered by rGO layer have revealed good optical properties with simple and environmentally approach in localized surface plasmon resonance.
