Precoding for MIMO-OFDM systems is usually treated as an extension of narrow-band MIMO precoding to all subcarriers. As for vector perturbation (VP) that is a promising near-capacity precoding method in narrow-band multiuser MIMO systems, has been modified to be applicable to single-antenna OFDM systems. Unfortunately, few additional diversity gain is gathered by the modified VP precoding in single-antenna OFDM system. On the other hand, as far as we know, there is still no research on the VP precoding for MIMO-OFDM systems. Thus, we propose the joint MIMO-OFDM VP precoding (JVP) schemes, which show distinct diversity gain over MIMO VP precoding extended to all subcarriers. Also, subcarrier grouping methods are developed to balance the complexity and performance. Simulation results validate the proposed schemes.
