This paper focuses on a wind farm power fluctuation which improved by using the variable-speed pump storage. The stator flux indirect field oriented control is used to control of pump storage. The two identical seven levels cascaded H-bridge multilevel converters (CHB-MLC) which connected in cascaded have been used to generate 6kV on the rotor side of pump storage. By using the CHB-MLC, total harmonic distortion of line current is reduced; fast response of speed is achieved, and AC voltage waveform with small voltage steps is produced. The variations of the wind power are detected and adjusted through a PI control to generate the reference speed of variable-speed pump storage. Finally, this model can be applied to improve the wind-power fluctuation in the Dongla station in the north of the Sudan.
