A quasi Z source inverter (q-ZSI) is utilized for driving induction motor fed by a standalone PV generator. The q-ZSI let the system to contain an energy storage part without any need for a charging circuit. Predictive torque control (PTC) is used to drive the induction motor because of its fast characteristic. PTC method can consider the variations of the inverter's input voltage and exert the proper switching state before any deterioration. This method leads to a small, compact, and single stage hardware which is controlled by one processing system. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulations results.
