The penetration of distributed generation in distribution networks has altered the traditional concept of a downstream power flow and the short circuit capacity. In some occasions, distributed generation could be connected without any implications. There may be disadvantages of connecting distributed generation such as increasing the voltage profile and exceeding the network short circuit level, and in turn, this may limit the connection of the distributed generation to the network. This paper will examine the impact of Doubly Fed Induction Generator wind turbines on short circuit level of IEEE 13-bus distribution test system using ETAP software. This will include balanced and unbalanced faults.
