the reliability improvements of cooperative and overlapped clustered meters of smart grids are investigated by fuzzy logic. Clustering is inevitable in smart meter grids due to the scalability issues. However, we show that clustering reduces reliability because of eliminating the available communication paths among meters. To enhance the reliability, we investigate the effects of cooperation among cluster heads and overlapping clusters. As reliability computation by common approaches is complex and slow, we implement fuzzy logic to show the effect of cooperation and overlapping on reliability. The proposed approach facilitates reliability computation and the infrastructure design of the smart meters grid.
