The role of 3D flight simulation technology in GIS and Remote Sensing(RS) applications has long been recognized, especially as new methods are developed in mineral resources management systems(MRMS), which provides mineral information query and search, mineral resources planning and design, mineral dynamic forecast, evaluation output and other functions. This paper introduces a novel method of 3D flight simulation based on RS, GIS and 3D techniques for mineral resources planning and visualization analysis. Based on these methods, 3D virtual scenes are created according to certain scales and 3D flight routes. The method commendably solves practical problems for mineral resources analysis and forecast. It makes up for some deficiencies versus the traditional method of using 2D maps.
