This paper considers the problem of robust adaptive fuzzy control for hyperchaotic Chen systems. During the controller design, fuzzy logic systems are used to model uncertain nonlinear function, then an adaptive fuzzy control scheme is designed. It is proven that the developed controller can suppress the chaotic behavior of the original system and guarantee that all the signals eventually converge to a small neighborhood around the origin. The main advantage lies in that only one adaptive parameter needs to be estimated online for the original systems with five uncertain parameters. Simulation results further illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
