The fluctuation and intermittent with wind power output, as a key factor that restrict a large-scale wind power system to connect to the power grid, which results in an adverse impact on the power system continues to grow. In order to improve the power output stability of wind power system, the research of wind power output controlling based on superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) is presented. At first the diagram of grid-connect wind power system is abstracted. And then, the mechanism of inhibiting grid-connect wind power fluctuations and shocks using SMES have been elaborated. At last, the correctness of using SMES to inhibit grid-connect wind power fluctuations is validated by simulation with MATLAB / SIMULINK.
