Reactive Yellow 160 (RY 160) dye in real samples was determined by a new modified carbon paste electrode based on RY-Alkyldimethylbezylammoniumchloride as a chemical modifier. The construction, performance, and applications of RY 160 dye carbon paste electrode are described. The best performance was exhibited by the electrode having the paste containing 0.5 wt% ion-exchangers (RY 160), 51 wt% graphite, and 48.5 wt% tributylphosphate. The modified electrode showed a near-Nernstian slope of over the concentration range of with the limit of detection over the pH range 3.7–8.1. The proposed sensor revealed good selectivities over a wide variety of anions.
