A sustainable microgrid located on the roadside in order to supply the on-road charging of electric vehicles is investigated in this paper. This sustainable microgrid consists of wind turbines, solar panels and stationary storage system. The optimum sizing, topology and power management are discussed. Both the grid-connected and the stand-alone options are investigated. This on-road charging consists of Contactless Power Transfer systems for powering electric while driving. In this way, the electric vehicles passing-by are charged without any physical interconnection with the charging system.
