Safety-critical real-time systems provide fault-tolerant mechanism in the presence of faults because some faults are able to give critical damages to the systems if not properly handled. As a mission computer in an aircraft is a representative mission-critical real-time system, fault-tolerant schemes are essential in both hardware and software. In this paper, we analyze temporal partitioning schemes for the fault-tolerant operational flight programs of the light fighter, FA-50 or the train jet, T-50, the products of Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. We provide two schemes: one in task-level and the other in partition-level. The proposed will enhance the dependability of the mission computer.
